Eating Adventures Food Tour Review Hong Kong

It was my mother’s first trip to Hong Kong and I was excited to show her the local culture! To do this, I wanted to explore the local food with her and decided on booking a tour with Eating Adventures Tours. In Hong Kong, they offer two tours, one is on Hong Kong island and the other is in Kowloon. Both have a lot to offer but I decided on the Kowloon food tour.

The tour began with meeting our bubbly guide outside of the Mong Kok MTR station. After a quick introduction, we were at our first stop, which happened to be roasted goose. This happened to be a very famous goose restaurant with a long history and it was overall great! I was told that many Asian tourists buy this goose before they leave Hong Kong to bring home.

The tour was more than just simply eating tasty food, along the way we were offered some insights about the local culture and history. We learned a bit about various dining customs and when locals will eat certain foods. All was very interesting! After the goose, we moved on to six more tastings.

We went through local markets, sampling street food as well as stopping at restaurants such as one serving snake soup, another serving fresh tofu and a bakery with glorious egg tarts. This was my first time trying snake soup and I must say I enjoyed it. Surprisingly, the taste was not very different than chicken, but you’ll have to see for yourself.

Towards the end of the tour we stopped at a dim sum restaurant. This was a casual dining experience where we got to try a plethora of dishes. I loved every item we ate! I’ve had hundreds of dim sum meals in my life and this was definitely something special.

The tour ended at about the same point where we started, very convenient indeed. The day was filled with action and excitement, and lots of insights into Hong Kong culture.
