Le Gray Hotel Review (Beirut, Lebanon)

21 Dec 2015

While in Beirut I spent time staying at Le Gray hotel. The style is much different than the other hotels that I stayed at while on my 10 country tour of Asia, Europe and the Middle East. Le Gray is a boutique hotel focused on very creative designs. A few of my friends recommended me to stay at Le Gray and I was curious if it would live up to the praise I had heard about it.

Upon my early afternoon arrival I was shown up to my room by the staff. On the way to the room I didn’t feel like I was in a hotel. It felt a bit different, perhaps more like an office building. Judging by the name of the hotel you can probably guess what the dominant color scheme is. Wink. I do appreciate people that are trying to do something different because the world would be boring if all hotels were the same. Good on you Le Gray.

Once inside the room I let my hotel judging eyes do some more work. It was a very large room with a nice view. The room was so big that I probably didn’t even have to use the gym to workout but just run laps around the inside of my room. The super high ceilings made everything feel extra spacious and reminded me of my time in Vienna.

One thing Pierre appreciated a lot was the impressive coffee machine in the closet. Too bad I didn’t have more work to do so I could spend more time binge drinking espresso locked away in my room. Coffee plus work is Pierre’s happy time.

They really focus on creative design even when it came to the bathroom. One feature I found really wonderful was the heated towel rack. It made it very convenient to dry the towels and other clothes I laid on it. The best part was that when you take your dried clothes off of the rack they are toasty warm like they were fresh out of the dryer. I love it!

After having dinner outside of the hotel I came back to the room to get some handsome sleep and to prepare for the breakfast the next day. I had heard a lot about the breakfast so I was very ecstatic to get there early! They offer a fantastic rooftop breakfast where you can order some items à la carte and also choose from their buffet. I ordered eggs royale because it’s one of my all time favorites. Le Gray has a great balance of international and Lebanese options to choose from. Everything included the breakfast was fantastic!

While at Le Gray I had a chance to try out their Pure Gray spa which you’ll be able to read about in a separate article. The gym was better than most standalone gyms and I really appreciated it. They have everything!  Lucky for me I had the entire place to myself! They also have a pool on their rooftop that is on another level. The design is breathtaking. Just take a look!

The hotel is located in the downtown high-end shopping district. It’s right in the middle of the city so you can literally just step out of the hotel and go. This is very convenient and allowed me to see things that I wouldn’t have seen if I didn’t stay at Le Gray. Something very pleasant to note is that everyone at this hotel seems quite passionate about their work. It was very refreshing to meet people that cared so much.

In conclusion, Le Gray hotel is a very nice boutique hotel and those who appreciate creative and modern designs will really enjoy it. It definitely has a very artistic sense to everything that they offer. The food and service were on point. It is a solid option if you are looking for a great place to stay while in Beirut. I stayed at Le Gray for two nights and before I knew it, it was time to move on to the next. It was sad to leave this wonderful place and if I have a chance to return to Le Gray hotel in Beirut I definitely will take it!
