My first Ascott experience was actually in Tokyo, where I had a very memorable time! Now I was visiting the Philippines and decided to try Ascott Makati Manila about a 20-30 minutes drive from the airport. Makati is one of the high-end luxury areas of Manila. Thus, in this area, you can find lots of luxury brands, shopping malls, and a wide variety of restaurants just next to the hotel. After arriving by car, I went up to the sixth floor lobby to check in.

The check in was smooth and I was escorted up to the 10th floor to see my sweet suite. Upon opening the door, I quickly realized that I had an incredible amount of space to stretch-out. In the giant living room there was stylish furniture, large television, sound system, and views form two directions. There was also a dining room with table and chairs, and a full-size kitchen! Tucked away in a closet near the entrance was a clothes washing machine. How convenient!
The bedroom was also massive, with a huge king-size bed, and a great interior design. There was a stylish desk where I got a lot of work done. I appreciated the modern, built-in power outlets. I very much liked the fact that you can order a massage in-room. Treat yourself!
The bathroom had a tub, shower, and in a single sink. The Ascott toiletries were very nice, I loved the scent! I may or may not have taken them all with me when I was in Tokyo. That will be our little secret!
Thanks so much to the Ascott team for all of the welcome gifts! I did my best to eat what I could during the stay!
For the duration of my stay, I had executive lounge access on the six floor. The executive lounge features evening cocktails and a variety of food that can easily replace dinner from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. This is the first time I have ever visited a club lounge that had an outdoor barbecue!
I was very impressed by the gym also on the 6th floor, beside the pool. Not only did they have tons of exercise machines, they also had less common pieces of equipment such as boxing and CrossFit equipment in a secondary room. Get your workout on!
The outdoor pool was beautiful. Nearby in the locker rooms you could find a steam room that I had to request be turned on upon my arrival.
At the Myron’s Restaurant you can enjoy Ascott’s breakfast. At breakfast they have an impressive amount of hearty Filipino food to choose from, as well as lots of other options. Even though it was quite busy, the staff were on top of things and provided impressively good service.
I also had a chance to try out the room service which was delivered promptly. Well done!
I also tried Myron’s for lunch and would recommend trying the Black Tiger Prawns with San Francisco Garlic Noodles. What a beautifully presented and tasty dish. For dessert I went with the Milk Tea Crème Brûlée which I’d also recommend! It basically tasted how you would imagine a milk tea, in creme brûlée form to taste! Lovely.
Looking back on the stay as a whole, what really stood out at the Ascott Makati Manila was the personalized service. Every staff member truly went above and beyond to give a pleasant personal touch. One area to improve on would be the call center, as sometimes I had to wait quite a while to connect with someone. Other parts I liked were the interior design, gym, executive lounge food and drink spread, and the pool! All in all, a visit to Ascott Makati Manila is highly recommended and I would love to come back as soon as possible!
