While staying at the Fairmont Royal York hotel, I definitely wanted to try a dinner at their EPIC restaurant. This is also where they have their daily breakfast and a great bar.

It’s just beside the hotel lobby and I must say I really liked the bar design.

After finishing up some hors d’oeuvres upstairs at the Fairmont Gold lounge, I came down to experience a meal. I kept seeing advertisements for their cocktails from the EPIC bar, so I definitely wanted to try one. I went with an Apple Manhattan which came with a cinnamon stick. This blew me away! Definitely worth a try.

For food, I started out with an order of scallops. The scallops were served alongside brussels sprouts. I must say that this was a fantastic way to start the meal and I really enjoyed this dish. The scallops were cooked to perfection and just mouthwatering.

For the main course, I went with the 16oz bone-in ribeye! The steak was a work of art. You can see that it was cooked perfectly. When I order a steak, I don’t usually consider what’s coming with it. However, the vegetables that accompanied the steak were splendid! Some of the best mashed potatoes I’ve ever had. Every single bite of this meal was just fantastic.

The staff were kind enough to offer some glorious ice wine from the Niagara region of Canada. They also sent over macaroons that were a nice touch to finish off the meal. It was then all over, and I must say that everything was great. I’d like to return as soon as possible to try more of their amazing food. If you’re in Toronto, I would highly recommend that you try a meal at the EPIC restaurant inside the Fairmont Royal York hotel.
